Meet the Founder
Since 2017, Carlynn Greene has helped students win millions of dollars in scholarships, get into their dream universities, and graduate debt-free across the globe. She has amassed over one million followers combined on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Greene also gives out scholarships.
She has had the privilege to partner via social media and speaking engagements with various schools, the NAACP, Microsoft, Walmart, Dr. Pepper, Amazon, and more.
In total, Greene received 30 scholarships for her undergraduate and graduate school. She studied broadcast journalism and public relations at UNT in Denton, Texas, and received various scholarships for her work as a journalist and news producer, including from the Congressional Black Caucus, NBC Universal, and many others. She previously worked as an ABC news producer at the national news level.
In 2021, she was part of the inaugural classes for the TikTok for Black Creators Program and the LinkedIn Accelerator Program. Additionally, she was a grant recipient for each program. Greene also won ADCOLOR's first-ever TikTok Creator Award for her advocacy on social media.
Why She Created Edfluential
Carlynn Greene started her content creator journey in 2017. However, at first, she wasn’t making a full-time income and was only paid around $1,000 per year for her content that was helping people win millions in scholarships and graduate debt-free across the globe.
Fast forward to today, her 6-figure business has multiple active / passive income streams and allows her to work remotely, create her own schedule, travel the world, and help even more students than she was initially back when she wasn’t getting paid much.
Within her application for a $50,000 grant provided by TikTok and MACRO, she mentioned how she wanted to teach others in the social-impact / educational spaces how to successfully create content that not only increases the effectiveness of their work — but also leads to a full-time income and how to diversify their income streams outside of social media. She was one of 10 creators awarded the grant.
It took till 2024 to get this project up and running. She initially planned to start it in 2022, but due to imposter syndrome and feeling overwhelmed from focusing on the other leg of her business that helps students with financial aid, it was delayed.
However, upon attending a conference in 2024 amongst other social-impact content creators in Washington D.C., she realized that she needed to resurface this project. She had multiple conversations with various content creators who had just as many — if not more followers on social media — and yet they were not making a full-time income from their work.
Additionally, many no longer saw as much engagement for their content due to recent restrictions on the reach of educational / political social media posts. So for all these reasons — she finally kickstarted her goal of helping others who already or want to help society in their own unique way.
